The Science and Culture Outreach Group in Nanshais established by the Guangzhou HKUST Fok Ying Tung Graduate School.
Founded in 2005, the Group aims to enhance the knowledge and communication in academic and culture between students from Mainland China and Hong Kong through general education projects, such as the PRD Exploration Scheme and the Science Popularizing Education Activity.
PRD Exploration Scheme
Because the communication between the PRD and Hong Kong has become more difficult over the past few years and because the rate of Hong Kong graduate students who start their careers in Mainland China has steadily increased, we have developed a series of exploration activities to inform students of the situation near Hong Kong and instruct them how to develop in the future to follow the development of PRD.
Science Popularizing Education Activity
Activity teaching mode has been steadily promoted in society these past few years. We have developed various kinds of science popularizing education activities among the primary school students in the PRD cities to let them experience more diversified learning modes. The activities train the students in their abilities to search, think, be innovative, and cooperate through games, activities, and matches designed by HKUST professors.
The Activity has been promoted in Hong Kong for many years, with more than 3,000 local and overseas primary and secondary school students participating every year; it has been highly praised by the education industry as well as parents.
